Commercial Real Estate Group of Tucson will share optics information during the Jan. 30-Feb. 1 Arizona photonics gathering of business owners, academics and scientists.
At least 100 business owners, inventors, scientists and advocates of the optics and photonics industry will share information and contacts during Arizona Photonics Days Jan. 30-Feb. 1 at the University of Arizona.
Commercial Real Estate Group of Tucson is a sponsor of the second annual event, which includes company presentations, scientific discussions and networking opportunities.
Arizona Photonics Days 2019 allows participants to learn about technology coming out of local and regional companies, the University of Arizona’s BIO5 Institute and the Global Photonics Alliance.
The event will focus on remote sensing, 3D metrology, space sensing, laser technology and biomedical technology. Speakers will include UA scientists and innovators who are cutting-edge researchers in the field.
Industry leaders and peers can make connections and discuss global optics and photonics issues in a more intimate Tucson setting that precedes the SPIE Photonics West.
Optics Valley, a committee of the Arizona Technology Council, organizes the event as part of its mission to foster collaborations and partnerships that support business interests in the industry.
It offers professional development, strategic business networking, workforce development and broad member support.
Tucson-based organizations and businesses make up more than two-thirds of Optics Valley memberships, so I appreciate its efforts to make connections that benefit our local economy area.
Tucson, in turn, contributes to the entire Arizona photonics landscape. The UA’s College of Optical Sciences educates more students in optics than any other institution in the United
States, according to my recently released white paper, “Tucson, Arizona: Arizona’s Optics Advantage.”
My white paper discusses Optics Valley and university activities that play crucial roles in developing a robust industry ecosystem. It also covers funding availability, specialized commercial real estate needs and the highly desirable Tucson lifestyle.
It also includes a broad look at Tucson’s existing optics industry by highlighting 21 companies, a fraction of the number that thrive in the metropolitan area.
I will make the white paper available to Arizona Photonics Day 2019 participants and will be informally meeting with businesses who have highly specialized commercial real estate needs. Participants can track me down or set up a meet-up. Contact me at michael@cretucson.com or 1-520-299-3400.
